The St. James Park
Owned and operated by the James Foundation.
The 56 acre Park is located in the City of St. James. There is no entrance fee. Recreational opportunities include: tennis courts, playgrounds, baseball field, picnic areas, shelters, basketball court, horseshoe pitching, sand volleyball, and fishing.
The office of the James Foundation is located within the Park at 320 S. Bourbeuse Street. If you have any questions please stop by or give us a call at 265-7124.
HOURS OF OPERATION
The Park is open each day through-out the year from 8:00 a.m. until dusk. There is no charge to enter the Park.
FISHING
Lake Scioto, a five acre lake located within the Park, is open to fishing. Fishing is allowed in the Park during hours that the Park is open for public use. A state fishing license is required. The management of the fishery within the Lake is under the control of the Missouri Department of Conservation.
Fishing Regulations:
Daily creel limits are: Black Bass 6, Channel Catfish 4. All other fish combined total of 20.
All black bass more than 12 inches but less than 15 inches total length measured from tip of the snout to the tip of the tail must be returned to the water unharmed immediately after being caught.
Head and tail must remain attached to all black bass while on the area or until checked by an agent of the Conservation Commission.
Fishing is permitted through-out the year
Seining or live trapping bait is prohibited.
Bullfrogs and greenfrogs may be taken during the statewide season by hand, handnet, gig or hook and line. Daily and possession limit is 8.
No littering.
No swimming.
No boats.
No ice skating.
SHELTERS
There are three shelters and a Scout Cabin located within the Park. Use is on a first come first served basis. They may be reserved. The fee is $30 per day. Reservations may be made by calling 573-265-7124.
