CATCH AND KEEP SEASON (MARCH 1- OCT. 31)
The Missouri Department of Conservation stocks trout into approximately .6 miles of the Spring Branch each day. Park fishermen are required to have a Missouri Fishing Permit and a Daily Trout Tag. These can be purchased at the Parks Company Store.
COST- $3.00 Daily Tag For Adults
$2.00 Daily Tag For Children 15 & Under

CATCH AND RELEASE - "WINTER FISHING"
The winter fishing season is a unique opportunity for anglers to fish Maramec when fishing pressure is at a minimum.
The fishing season runs from the second Friday in November to the second Monday in February.
COST- $7.00 Trout Permit
BAIT- Flies Only.
LIMIT- Catch And Release Only
HOURS- 8 A.M. CST TO 4 P.M. CST.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Trout Opening is March 1st. This is the first day of the Catch and Keep Season. The Stream is well stocked with trout. The St. James Chamber of Commerce serves coffee and doughnuts to early fishermen. They also give away several prizes to lucky fishermen.
Kid's Fishing Day is held the first Saturday following Mother's Day. Hundreds of kids enjoy a day of free fishing at Maramec. Children 15 and under fish free. Not only is the fishing free, but cars containing a kid (15 and under) get in free and many prizes are given away throughout the day by the MARAMEC SPRING TROUT FISHERMENS ASSOCIATION.
Girls Gone Fishing is September 15th. This is a day when women fish free no matter their age. A special area of the Spring Branch will be reserved for women only.
Derby Day occurs each year on the last Saturday of October. The stream is stocked with above average size trout and the Maramec Spring Trout Fishermens Association is on hand to give out refreshments and prizes. |
