Hiking Trails

Leather Britches Trail

This 1.6 mile loop trail begins and ends at the mine pit overlook and takes approximately 1 – 1 1/2 hours to complete. 

The trail takes you through pine and oak/hickory forest as well as providing a new perspective of the mine pit. The trail is rated as “moderate” in difficulty, with some sections of steep incline, rocky terrain, and a few areas of narrow trail.

Make sure to wear proper footwear and insect repellent, and bring water when hiking. This trail is blazed in blue diamonds 🔹.


Note: This trail is for hiking only. No bicycles, motorized vehicles, or horses are allowed on the Leatherbritches Trail.
